Key Duties:
As our Senior Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in the financial health of our organization. Your responsibilities will include managing complex accounts, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing strategic financial insights to the management team.
Responsibilities
- Manage General Ledger: Oversee the general ledger, ensuring accurate recording of financial transactions and preparing monthly financial statements.
- Month-End Close: Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, including variance analysis and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely payments and accurate invoicing.
- Compliance: Ensure strict compliance with GAAP, local, state, and federal accounting regulations and internal control policies.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare ad-hoc reports and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and budget preparation.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to financial processes and software systems to increase efficiency.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 4-6 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial reporting.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage Intacct, and expert-level Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros).
- Certification: CPA certification is a significant plus but not mandatory for this role.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy in all work.
