Job Summary
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can manage complex accounting tasks with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the monthly general ledger closing process and ensure accuracy of financial statements.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Perform bank reconciliations and prepare monthly variance analysis reports.
- Assist in the preparation of annual tax returns and support external audits.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local financial regulations.
- Process journal entries and maintain fixed asset schedules.
- Train junior staff and provide guidance on accounting policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero).
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines in a high-volume environment.
