Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations and tax laws.
- Assist in the annual external audit process, including document preparation and coordination.
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Process payroll transactions and manage payroll tax filings.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process for department heads.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or government contracting environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP) and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder reporting.
