Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L, and Cash Flow).
- Compliance & Audits: Maintain strict adherence to GAAP and internal controls; assist external auditors during annual audits and internal reviews.
- Account Reconciliation: Perform complex bank reconciliations and intercompany eliminations to ensure data integrity across all accounts.
- Tax Management: Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax filings; coordinate with external tax consultants to ensure compliance.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and implement new ERP modules or financial software updates.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in general accounting, preferably within a corporate or mid-sized firm.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Advanced functions) and experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or NetSuite.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to detect discrepancies.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of explaining complex financial data to non-finance stakeholders.
