Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and internal policies.
- Manage and oversee the general ledger, ensuring accuracy in all journal entries and reconciliations.
- Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, identifying variances and driving corrective actions.
- Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance on complex accounting issues and best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budget preparation, forecasting, and strategic planning initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, including filing tax returns and managing audits.
- Streamline accounting processes and implement improved financial reporting systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA certification is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP) and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Strong understanding of financial reporting standards, cost accounting, and internal controls.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate complex financial data clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience with tax compliance and regulatory reporting is a plus.
