OceanView Financial Group is expanding our accounting team and is currently looking for a dedicated Senior Accountant to join our Long Beach office. Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- General Ledger Management: Oversee the general ledger, ensuring accurate recording of all financial transactions and performing month-end and year-end close procedures.
- Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and general ledger accounts to ensure data accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage the accounts payable process, including vendor invoicing, approvals, and payments, as well as monitor accounts receivable collections.
- Compliance & Audits: Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure the company remains compliant with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement best practices for greater efficiency.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; Master’s degree (CPA) preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in general accounting, with a focus on financial reporting and reconciliation.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage) and advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Macros).
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical abilities, excellent attention to detail, and superior communication skills.
- Licensure: Active CPA or CMA certification is a significant plus.
