Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly/quarterly financial statements for Michigan and Virginia operations
- Lead month-end closing processes and reconciliations
- Manage audit preparation and documentation for multi-state entities
- Develop and maintain internal controls for remote finance workflows
- Collaborate with Virginia-based team on cross-state financial reporting
- Implement process improvements for remote accounting operations
- Mentor junior accountants on remote work best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of public/private accounting experience
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, NetSuite, and Excel advanced functions
- Experience with multi-state tax compliance (MI/VA focus)
- Proven track record of remote finance operations
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
