Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and general ledger maintenance
- Conduct internal audits and implement robust internal controls to mitigate financial risks
- Collaborate with tax teams to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
- Develop and maintain financial models for forecasting and budgeting purposes
- Mentor junior accounting staff and optimize financial workflows using ERP systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in corporate or public accounting
- Expertise in GAAP, SOX compliance, and financial reporting standards
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (Sage, QuickBooks, NetSuite)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills for presenting financial insights to stakeholders
- Experience with multi-state tax compliance and audit preparation
