Responsibilities
- Oversee the monthly and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial statements are accurate and compliant with GAAP.
- Manage general ledger activities, including account reconciliation, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
- Prepare and analyze complex financial reports, including variance analysis and budget-to-actual comparisons for senior management.
- Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance on complex accounting issues and best practices.
- Assist with external and internal audits, preparing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic planning, forecasting, and process improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate fixed asset records and manage intercompany transactions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a corporate or public accounting environment.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks).
- Deep understanding of GAAP accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of explaining complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
