Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting operations including GL, AP, AR, and month-end close
- Prepare and analyze financial statements for executive leadership and stakeholders
- Lead budgeting processes and variance analysis to drive cost optimization
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements
- Implement and improve internal controls and accounting systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial planning and reporting
- Conduct audits and support external examinations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in public/private sectors
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks and MS Excel with pivot tables/VBA
- Proven expertise in financial reporting, audits, and compliance
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) a plus
- New Mexico residency required
