In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of our financial records, managing complex reporting requirements, and supporting the senior leadership team with critical financial insights.
Responsibilities
- General Ledger Management: Oversee daily journal entries, perform complex account reconciliations, and ensure the integrity of the general ledger.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Balance Sheets, P&L) in compliance with GAAP standards.
- Compliance & Audits: Coordinate with external auditors and ensure all internal controls and regulatory compliance requirements are met.
- Tax Administration: Assist in the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns, maintaining accurate tax schedules.
- Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, implement best practices, and enhance financial systems.
- Team Collaboration: Mentor junior staff members, conduct training sessions on accounting software, and collaborate with other departments on budget preparation.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is required; Master’s degree (MBA) or CPA certification is strongly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a corporate or high-volume environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Expert level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Macros) and experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or NetSuite.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of US GAAP, IFRS, and federal tax regulations.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to communicate complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders clearly and concisely.
- Attention to Detail: Proven track record of accuracy in high-pressure environments with multiple deadlines.
