Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly/quarterly financial statements with GAAP compliance
- Manage general ledger operations, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and expense reporting systems
- Conduct financial audits and collaborate with external auditors
- Develop and maintain internal controls for financial data integrity
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis initiatives
- Lead special projects related to process optimization and system implementations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in public/private sectors
- Expertise in accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Excel
- Deep knowledge of Illinois tax regulations and federal compliance requirements
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation abilities
- Proven track record of improving financial processes and reporting
