Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and internal policies.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Month-End Close: Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals, adjustments, and variance analysis.
- Compliance & Audits: Coordinate with external auditors and internal stakeholders to ensure full compliance with tax regulations and internal controls.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
- Account Reconciliation: Reconcile balance sheet accounts and intercompany transactions to ensure data consistency.
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior accounting staff and provide guidance on complex accounting issues.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; Master’s degree or CPA certification is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a corporate or public accounting environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros).
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP principles, financial analysis, and budgeting processes.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Soft Skills: High level of attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Location: Must be willing to work from our Austin, TX office 3 days a week.
