Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger reconciliation.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and prepare accurate tax filings.
- Conduct internal audits and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support for budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Mentor and train junior accounting staff to ensure best practices are followed.
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes efficiently and accurately.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master’s degree or CPA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, preferably within a corporate or professional services environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
