Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and timely.
- Compliance & Auditing: Ensure all financial operations comply with federal, state, and local regulations and internal policies.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Oversee the accounts payable process, manage vendor relations, and monitor accounts receivable collections.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the development of annual budgets and perform variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in accounting workflows and implement best practices to increase efficiency.
- Tax Preparation: Assist in the preparation of local and federal tax filings as required.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Certification: CPA certification is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP and financial analysis principles.
- Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and a strong work ethic.
