Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow analyses
- Manage general ledger operations, ensuring accurate recording and reconciliation of all financial transactions
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable processes and optimize cash flow management
- Coordinate external audits and maintain compliance with federal/state tax regulations
- Develop and implement financial controls to mitigate risk and enhance operational efficiency
- Analyze financial data to provide actionable insights for strategic decision-making
- Mentor junior accounting staff and process improvements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in public/private sectors
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and ERP systems (SAP/Oracle)
- Deep understanding of GAAP, SOX compliance, and Illinois tax regulations
- Proven ability to manage complex month-end/year-end close processes
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration
- Experience with financial reporting for multi-entity organizations
