Responsibilities
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial statements.
- Prepare and review VAT returns and reconciliations in compliance with HMRC regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
- Oversee the general ledger, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Conduct internal audits and coordinate with external auditors during the audit process.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making by management.
- Maintain and update internal policies and procedures related to finance and accounting.
Qualifications
- ACCA/CIMA qualified or part-qualified (minimum 3 years PQE).
- Strong working knowledge of UK GAAP and VAT legislation.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present complex financial data clearly.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Valid right to work in the United Kingdom.
