Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely reconciliation of all accounts.
- Prepare complex monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for management and stakeholder review.
- Oversee the payroll process, ensuring all statutory deductions (PAYE, NIC, VAT) are calculated and remitted correctly.
- Conduct internal financial audits and assist external auditors during the annual review process.
- Ensure strict compliance with current UK tax legislation, Corporation Tax rules, and financial regulations.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of junior accountants and finance assistants.
- Perform variance analysis and prepare cash flow forecasts to support business planning.
Qualifications
- CCAB qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent) or equivalent professional qualification.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a UK-based accounting environment.
- Proven experience with advanced accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, or SAP) and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong working knowledge of UK tax laws, including VAT, PAYE, and Corporation Tax.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data to non-finance stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
