Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring strict adherence to GAAP standards.
- Account Management: Oversee general ledger accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns, ensuring full regulatory compliance.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to enhance internal controls, streamline workflows, and improve operational efficiency.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the finance director and cross-functional teams to provide insightful financial analysis and support strategic decision-making.
- Auditing: Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and internal reviews, preparing necessary schedules and documentation.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (Master’s degree preferred).
- Experience: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a corporate or public accounting firm setting.
- Certification: CPA certification is a significant advantage.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage) and advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical abilities with exceptional attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting complex financial data clearly.
