Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards.
- Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Oversee the monthly close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial data.
- Prepare and file federal and state tax returns, ensuring full compliance with DC and IRS regulations.
- Assist in the budgeting process and provide financial forecasting to support executive decision-making.
- Conduct internal audits and internal controls reviews to mitigate financial risk.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize financial processes and improve operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (CPA or CMA certification is a plus).
- Minimum of 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a remote or hybrid setting.
- Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Excel (Advanced functions, PivotTables).
- Deep understanding of US GAAP, tax laws, and financial reporting regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data clearly.
- Self-starter mindset with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote environment.
