Responsibilities
- Manage General Ledger: Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliations and account reconciliations to identify discrepancies and resolve them promptly.
- Compliance & Audits: Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and supporting schedules.
- Tax Preparation: Support the preparation of quarterly and annual tax filings, working closely with external tax advisors.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement best practices for remote team efficiency.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA certification is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate or public accounting environment.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage).
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Self-Motivation: Ability to work independently in a remote setting, demonstrating strong time management and organizational skills.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy in data entry and financial analysis.
