Responsibilities
- Manage General Ledger: Oversee the daily operations of the general ledger, ensuring accurate recording of financial transactions and maintaining the integrity of financial data.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L) that are compliant with GAAP standards.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Process invoices, manage vendor relationships, and ensure timely collection of accounts receivable.
- Reconciliation: Perform detailed bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure all accounts are up-to-date and accurate.
- Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual tax filings, ensuring all deadlines are met and compliance requirements are upheld.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency within the remote work environment.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA certification is a strong plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a remote or hybrid setting.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Xero, or Sage; strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) are essential.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to detect errors, analyze data, and ensure high-quality reporting.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly.
- Reliability: Must have a high-speed, reliable internet connection and a dedicated workspace to perform remote duties effectively.
