Responsibilities
- Process and maintain weekly payroll for all employees using [Insert Software Name, e.g., ADP or QuickBooks] to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Calculate and verify payroll data, including hours worked, overtime, commissions, and deductions.
- Prepare and file federal, state, and local payroll tax returns in compliance with FLSA and other regulations.
- Address and resolve payroll-related inquiries from employees regarding pay stubs, tax forms, and compensation.
- Assist with the administration of employee benefits programs, including enrollment and changes.
- Maintain accurate and confidential payroll records and documentation.
- Collaborate with the HR department to ensure data consistency across HRIS and payroll systems.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Human Resources is preferred.
- Previous experience in payroll processing (1-3 years minimum) is required.
- Proficiency in payroll software (ADP, Workday, or Ceridian) and Microsoft Excel is essential.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and regulations.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to detect errors before processing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for dealing with employees and management.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive employee information.
