As a Payroll Specialist, you will be the guardian of our employees' compensation, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of paychecks.
Responsibilities
- Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for over 500 employees using ADP Workforce Now.
- Verify and update employee data, including new hires, terminations, and address changes, ensuring 100% data accuracy.
- Calculate commissions, bonuses, and deductions according to company policy and labor laws.
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries from staff and management with professionalism and clarity.
- Prepare and reconcile payroll tax reports, ensuring full compliance with FLSA and state regulations.
- Assist with the preparation of year-end W-2 forms and 1099s.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all employee compensation data.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Human Resources is preferred.
- Previous experience with payroll software (ADP, Paychex, or Ceridian) is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of payroll tax laws, wage and hour laws (FLSA), and compliance requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to spot errors quickly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables are a plus).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure during month-end close.
- Valid driver's license is not required but may be beneficial for off-site meetings.
