Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for a diverse workforce, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (FLSA, ERISA, etc.).
- Prepare and file quarterly and annual payroll tax reports and returns to ensure full compliance with the IRS and Nebraska Department of Revenue.
- Handle employee inquiries regarding pay stubs, tax documents (W-2s, 1099s), deductions, and benefits contributions.
- Collaborate with the HR department to update payroll records, process new hires, terminations, and changes in compensation or status.
- Maintain and audit payroll records and documentation for audit readiness and internal controls.
- Utilize payroll software (ADP, Paylocity, or similar) to generate reports, reconcile accounts, and troubleshoot system issues.
- Assist in the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance and retirement plans.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of proven experience in payroll processing and administration.
- Strong knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and compliance requirements in the United States.
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian, or QuickBooks Payroll).
- Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) for data analysis and reporting.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest level of confidentiality and integrity.
- Associate degree or certification in Payroll (CPP, FPC) is a plus.
