  • Ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, including FLSA and California-specific regulations.
  • Manage complex payroll adjustments, garnishments, and tax filings accurately.
  • Conduct regular audits of payroll records and bank reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for employee payroll inquiries and tax documentation requests.
  • Collaborate with the HR and Finance teams to update compensation structures and benefit deductions.
  • Prepare and file quarterly and annual state and federal payroll tax returns.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in payroll processing, preferably within a mid-to-large-sized organization.
  • Strong knowledge of California payroll laws and tax requirements (FTB, EDD, EEOC).
  • Proficiency in payroll software (ADP, Paylocity, or Ceridian) and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Human Resources preferred.
