Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle payroll processing (weekly, bi-weekly, or semi-monthly) ensuring 100% accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare and file federal, state, and local payroll tax returns and reports (W-2s, 1099s, etc.) accurately and by deadlines.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies, tax inquiries, and complex employee compensation questions with a high degree of professionalism.
- Maintain meticulous payroll records and ensure strict compliance with FLSA, ERISA, and other applicable labor laws.
- Collaborate closely with the HR and Finance departments to update compensation data, process garnishments, and handle special payroll requests.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on payroll experience in a corporate or high-volume payroll environment.
- Proficiency with major payroll software systems (e.g., ADP Workforce Now, Paychex, or Ceridian Dayforce).
- Strong working knowledge of payroll tax laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Conditional Formatting) for data analysis and reporting.
- Excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail with the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
