Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic finance team immediately. Responsibilities
- Process multi-state payroll including bi-weekly calculations, garnishments, and deductions
- Ensure compliance with FLSA, IRS regulations, and state/local payroll laws
- Manage time and attendance systems, resolving discrepancies and exceptions
- Prepare and file payroll tax returns, W-2s, and year-end reporting
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries with professionalism and accuracy
- Reconcile payroll accounts and audit processes quarterly
- Implement and document payroll control procedures
- Collaborate with HR on new hire onboarding and terminations
Qualifications
- 3+ years of payroll processing experience with multi-state operations
- Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now or similar payroll systems
- Strong knowledge of federal/state tax laws and labor regulations
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPP or FPC certification preferred
- Advanced Excel skills with VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and macros
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with garnishment processing and year-end reporting
