Responsibilities
- Process and disburse payroll on a bi-weekly basis using [Company Payroll System] or ADP Workforce Now.
- Ensure accurate calculation of gross pay, deductions, taxes, and net pay for all employees.
- Maintain strict compliance with federal (IRS), state (New Mexico Taxation & Revenue), and local payroll laws and regulations.
- Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll tax reports and returns.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay stubs, tax forms (W-2/W-4), and time-off balances.
- Conduct regular audits of payroll data to identify discrepancies and prevent errors.
- Collaborate with HR to update employee records, including changes in status, direct deposit, and tax information.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in payroll processing, preferably within a corporate environment.
- Proficiency in payroll software (ADP, Paychex, Ceridian) and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Strong working knowledge of FLSA, FICA, FUTA, SUTA, and New Mexico tax compliance requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy in data entry.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with employees and management.
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Human Resources is preferred.
