The Role:
As a Payroll Specialist, you will act as the guardian of our payroll operations, ensuring that every transaction is processed with precision.
Responsibilities
- Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for all employees using ADP and QuickBooks.
- Calculate withholdings, taxes, and deductions in strict adherence to federal and state laws.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer employee inquiries regarding pay stubs and direct deposits.
- Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll tax reports (Form 941, W-2s, etc.).
- Collaborate with the Finance Department to ensure accurate general ledger entries for payroll expenses.
- Maintain and audit employee timecards and leave records for compliance.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in payroll processing, preferably within a corporate environment.
- Strong working knowledge of payroll tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in payroll software (ADP, Paychex, or similar) and accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables) is required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a high degree of accuracy.
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
