Key Responsibilities:
- Process and disburse payroll accurately and on a bi-weekly schedule.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
- Prepare and file payroll tax returns and maintain necessary documentation.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding paychecks, deductions, and tax statements.
- Collaborate with the HR department to resolve timekeeping discrepancies and update employee records.
- Reconcile payroll accounts and assist in month-end close processes.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in payroll processing or a related accounting field.
- Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations and reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality.
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree or CPP certification preferred.
