Responsibilities
- Process Payroll: Manage the full-cycle payroll process bi-weekly using ADP Workforce Now, ensuring accurate calculations for wages, taxes, and deductions.
- Compliance Management: Maintain strict adherence to federal, state, and local payroll tax laws, with a specific focus on California regulations and FLSA requirements.
- Employee Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for all payroll-related questions, including payslips, tax forms (W-2s/1099s), and garnishments.
- Data Integrity: Conduct regular audits of payroll records and timekeeping data to identify discrepancies and resolve errors promptly.
- Reporting & Analysis: Prepare detailed payroll reports and variance analyses to assist management in understanding labor costs and budgeting.
- System Administration: Collaborate with IT and vendors to troubleshoot software issues and implement process improvements.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of professional payroll processing experience in a corporate or high-volume environment.
- Software Skills: Proficiency with payroll software (ADP, UKG, or Paylocity) and advanced Excel skills (vlookups, pivot tables).
- Education: Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred; equivalent experience accepted.
- Attention to Detail: Demonstrated ability to perform complex mathematical calculations with zero tolerance for error.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex payroll concepts to non-financial staff.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues and implement effective solutions.
