Responsibilities
- Process bi-weekly payroll for diverse workforce including hourly, salaried, and commission-based employees
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations including FLSA, IRS, and Texas labor laws
- Manage garnishments, deductions, and benefits enrollments with 100% accuracy
- Prepare and submit tax filings (941, 940, state unemployment) and year-end W-2s
- Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies through audit trails
- Collaborate with HR on new hires, terminations, and compensation changes
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive employee financial data
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 4+ years of payroll processing experience in multi-state environments
- Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now or comparable payroll systems
- CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification preferred
- Expert knowledge of FLSA, ERISA, and Texas payroll regulations
- Advanced Excel skills including VLOOKUP and pivot tables
- Proven ability to manage deadlines in high-volume payroll cycles
