Responsibilities
- Process Weekly & Monthly Payroll: Accurately calculate and process payroll for all employees using our preferred HRIS system (ADP or Paychex).
- Data Entry & Maintenance: Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, tax forms (W-2s, W-4s), and direct deposit information.
- Reconciliation: Perform daily and monthly payroll reconciliations to ensure accuracy in gross pay, deductions, and net pay.
- Compliance & Reporting: Ensure all payroll activities comply with local, state, and federal labor laws and tax regulations.
- Employee Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for employee payroll-related inquiries, resolving issues efficiently and professionally.
- Leave Management: Assist in calculating and approving leave of absence, vacation time, and sick leave accruals.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Human Resources is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in payroll processing, preferably in a corporate or high-volume environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in payroll software (ADP, Paychex, Workday, or similar) and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot errors and ensure data integrity in high-volume data processing.
- Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex payroll details clearly to non-financial staff.
- Legal Knowledge: Basic understanding of FLSA regulations, tax withholdings, and garnishment procedures.
