Responsibilities
- Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for all employees using ADP and QuickBooks, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Calculate and verify all deductions, including taxes, 401(k) contributions, and benefits premiums.
- Maintain and update employee payroll records, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
- Prepare and reconcile payroll tax reports for submission to federal, state, and local authorities.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay stubs, tax forms, and deductions in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes related to payroll accounting.
- Collaborate with the HR department to resolve discrepancies in timekeeping and attendance data.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Human Resources is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing, preferably using ADP or similar HRIS platforms.
- Strong working knowledge of federal and state payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, vlookups) and payroll software.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to detect errors in complex data sets.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff and management.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost discretion and confidentiality.
