Responsibilities
- Prepare and review individual and corporate income tax returns with precision and timeliness.
- Conduct thorough research on federal and state tax laws to ensure full compliance.
- Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary documentation and answer tax-related inquiries.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and tax projections for audit preparation.
- Utilize industry-standard tax software (e.g., Lacerte, ProSystem fx, or UltraTax) to manage client data.
- File accurate returns with state and federal authorities and handle correspondence.
- Maintain organized client files and ensure strict adherence to confidentiality protocols.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
- 1-3 years of experience in tax preparation is highly desirable.
- CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification is a plus but not required.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and tax preparation software.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
