Join our dynamic finance team at Apex Financial Partners, a leading advisory firm serving high-growth startups in Research Triangle Park. We're seeking a meticulous Part-Time Senior Accountant to streamline financial operations while maintaining compliance with GAAP and SEC regulations. This hybrid role (20-25 hours/week) offers competitive compensation and flexible scheduling.
Our ideal candidate will support portfolio companies with month-end close processes, financial modeling, and investor reporting. You'll collaborate directly with CFOs and founders to implement robust accounting systems, optimize cash flow, and drive strategic financial decision-making. This position provides exposure to diverse industries including SaaS, biotech, and fintech.
Responsibilities
- Execute full-cycle month-end closing procedures including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis
- Prepare and analyze financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) for 10+ portfolio companies
- Develop and maintain financial models for fundraising rounds and operational forecasting
- Manage accounts payable/receivable processes and optimize working capital
- Coordinate annual audits and ensure compliance with tax regulations (federal/state)
- Implement QuickBooks Online and NetSuite solutions for client companies
- Mentor junior staff on accounting best practices and software proficiency
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of public accounting or corporate finance experience
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, NetSuite, and Excel (VBA/macros)
- Demonstrated experience with SEC reporting and GAAP compliance
- Strong analytical skills with ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
- Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
- Proven track record of improving financial processes in high-growth environments
