Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all journal entries are accurate and posted in a timely manner.
- Perform comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Prepare detailed financial statements and variance analysis reports for executive review.
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions, verifying accuracy of invoices and payments.
- Assist with the preparation of annual tax filings and ensure compliance with state and local regulations.
- Leverage cloud-based accounting software (QuickBooks Online, Xero) to streamline financial workflows.
- Conduct periodic internal audits to ensure adherence to internal controls and best practices.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a small to mid-sized firm.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required.
- CPA certification is highly preferred but not mandatory for this role.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros) and accounting software.
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data clearly.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities efficiently in a remote-capable environment.
