Responsibilities
- Analyze financial statements, credit reports, and cash flow projections to assess borrower risk profiles
- Prepare comprehensive credit memos with risk ratings, repayment capacity analysis, and approval recommendations
- Monitor existing credit portfolios and identify early warning signs of potential defaults
- Collaborate with relationship managers to structure loan terms that balance risk mitigation and client needs
- Stay current on industry regulations, economic trends, and credit scoring methodologies
- Support loan committee meetings with data-driven insights and risk assessments
- Develop and maintain risk assessment models for various lending products
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business (or equivalent experience)
- 1-3 years of credit analysis, underwriting, or commercial lending experience
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, financial modeling)
- Familiarity with credit bureaus (Experian, Equifax, TransUnion) and reporting systems
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial data
- Excellent written/verbal communication for documenting credit decisions
