Responsibilities
- Manage daily bookkeeping operations, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and credit card statement reviews.
- Process and payroll for a small team of 5-10 employees on a bi-weekly basis.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports, including P&L statements and balance sheets.
- Prepare and file monthly sales tax returns with the State of Kansas.
- Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems for all financial documents.
- Assist the Senior Accountant with year-end tax preparation and audit requests.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience in bookkeeping or general accounting.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (required) or Xero (preferred).
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and Macros).
- Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is preferred.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data entry and calculations.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
