Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile client accounts using QuickBooks Online and desktop versions
- Process bi-weekly payroll for 15-20 employees per client
- Prepare monthly financial statements including profit & loss, balance sheets, and cash flow reports
- Manage accounts payable/receivable with 3-day turnaround targets
- Assist with quarterly tax filings and year-end audits
- Implement and optimize accounting software workflows for new clients
- Provide financial consulting during monthly client meetings
- Ensure compliance with DC tax regulations and IRS guidelines
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance (Bachelor's preferred)
- 3+ years of bookkeeping experience with QuickBooks proficiency
- Strong knowledge of GAAP principles and payroll processing
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros)
- Experience with non-profit accounting a major plus
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines with 95% accuracy rate
- Professional certification (QB ProAdvisor, AAP) preferred
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills
