Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping operations, including accounts payable and accounts receivable processing.
- Perform accurate monthly bank reconciliations and general ledger account maintenance.
- Prepare and generate comprehensive financial reports, such as balance sheets and profit & loss statements.
- Assist with payroll processing and ensure timely tax filings and compliance with local and federal regulations.
- Reconcile credit card statements and maintain accurate fixed asset schedules.
- Communicate effectively with clients to address financial inquiries and provide clarity on account status.
- Assist in the preparation of year-end financial statements and audit schedules.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Accounting or Finance is a strong plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional bookkeeping experience in a small to mid-sized firm.
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Deep understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to detect discrepancies quickly.
- Self-motivated individual capable of working independently in a remote or hybrid capacity.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (for occasional client site visits).
