Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping operations, including accounts payable and receivable.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts monthly to ensure accuracy.
- Process payroll for a small team of employees on a bi-weekly schedule.
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries and adjust entries.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports and balance sheets.
- Maintain and organize financial records, both digital and physical, in compliance with GAAP standards.
- Communicate effectively with clients and internal staff regarding financial inquiries.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar financial role.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other office productivity tools.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to spot errors in data.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a part-time capacity.
- Familiarity with local Wisconsin tax regulations is a plus.
