Responsibilities
- Manage Financial Records: Accurately record daily transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring all entries are balanced and up-to-date.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations to identify discrepancies and maintain accurate financial records.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial statements, trial balances, and month-end close processes in a timely manner.
- Payroll Support: Process payroll for a small team, ensuring tax withholdings and deductions are calculated correctly.
- Client Communication: Interact with clients to answer inquiries regarding account status and provide financial summaries.
- Compliance: Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local financial laws and regulations.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of professional bookkeeping experience.
- Software Proficiency: Must be proficient in QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage accounting software.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly.
- Organization: Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively in a fast-paced environment.
