Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate general ledgers and reconcile bank accounts monthly
- Process accounts payable/receivable and manage payroll for assigned clients
- Generate financial statements and custom reports using QuickBooks Online
- Prepare sales tax filings and manage client document retention systems
- Assist with month-end closing procedures and audit support
- Provide proactive financial insights to client stakeholders
- Collaborate with senior accountants on special financial projects
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance (Bachelor's preferred)
- 3+ years of hands-on bookkeeping experience with QuickBooks
- Proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, data validation)
- Strong understanding of GAAP and IRS compliance requirements
- Excellent communication skills for client interactions
- Proven ability to meet deadlines in fast-paced environments
- Relevant certifications (e.g., QuickBooks ProAdvisor) a plus
- Virginia Beach local candidates strongly preferred
