We're seeking a meticulous Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our dynamic financial team in Baltimore. This role offers flexible hours (20-25/week) and the opportunity to work with a growing portfolio of local businesses. You'll be the backbone of our clients' financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance while gaining exposure to diverse industries.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts with precision
- Process accounts payable/receivable and manage payroll cycles
- Prepare monthly financial statements and variance analyses
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Implement and optimize bookkeeping systems for efficiency
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and GAAP standards
- Collaborate with CPAs during audits and tax preparations
Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional bookkeeping experience
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel
- Associate's degree in Accounting or related field required
- Certified Bookkeeper (CB) designation preferred
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Strong understanding of GAAP and Maryland tax regulations
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines independently
- Experience with Xero a plus
