Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for 3-5 nonprofit clients using QuickBooks Online
- Prepare monthly financial statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports
- Process accounts payable/receivable and bank reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with DC nonprofit accounting standards and grant reporting
- Assist with annual budget preparation and variance analysis
- Coordinate with auditors during year-end reviews
- Maintain organized digital filing systems for financial records
Qualifications
- 3+ years of nonprofit bookkeeping experience
- Expert proficiency in QuickBooks Online
- Strong understanding of GAAP and nonprofit fund accounting
- Associate's degree in Accounting/Finance (Bachelor's preferred)
- Advanced Excel skills with pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines with competing priorities
- Professional certification (CPA or QuickBooks ProAdvisor) a plus
