We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team in Virginia Beach. Responsibilities
- Accounts Management: Handle daily bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
- Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts monthly to identify discrepancies and ensure financial records align with actual balances.
- Payroll Support: Assist in processing payroll for a small team of employees, ensuring tax deductions and benefits are calculated correctly.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly financial statements, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets, to support decision-making processes.
- General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger records by posting journal entries and reconciling sub-ledgers.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal and state tax regulations by organizing and maintaining necessary tax documentation.
- Vendor Relations: Communicate effectively with vendors and clients regarding invoices, payments, and account inquiries.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of professional bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online or Xero is required; familiarity with Microsoft Excel is essential.
- Education: Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and basic tax regulations.
- Skills: Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Communication: Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely to non-financial stakeholders.
- Work Ethic: Self-motivated individual capable of working independently and meeting deadlines in a part-time capacity.
