Responsibilities
- Accounts Reconciliation: Perform monthly and weekly bank reconciliations and credit card statement reviews to ensure data accuracy.
- Transaction Management: Process accounts payable and receivable, including issuing invoices, managing payments, and sending statements.
- Software Proficiency: Utilize QuickBooks Online and/or Xero to record daily transactions, categorize expenses, and manage general ledgers.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and generate monthly financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
- Payroll Support: Assist with payroll processing, ensuring accurate tax withholdings and time tracking for employees.
- Compliance: Maintain up-to-date records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Client Communication: Provide exceptional service to clients by answering inquiries regarding their accounts and financial status.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience in bookkeeping or a similar financial role.
- Software Skills: Strong proficiency in QuickBooks (Desktop or Online) and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business is preferred.
- Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail with the ability to detect discrepancies and errors in financial data.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly.
- Organization: Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple client accounts simultaneously.
- Self-Motivation: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a remote or hybrid setting.
