Responsibilities
- Bookkeeping: Manage daily financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and balance sheets in compliance with GAAP standards.
- Payroll Support: Assist with the processing and reconciliation of payroll for a diverse client portfolio.
- Tax Preparation: Support the tax team during the busy season by gathering necessary documentation and preparing schedules.
- Reconciliation: Perform regular bank and credit card reconciliations to identify discrepancies and resolve them promptly.
- Compliance: Maintain organized financial records and ensure compliance with local and federal regulations.
- Client Communication: Liaise with clients to clarify financial queries and provide status updates on their accounts.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- Experience: 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or public accounting setting.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage; proficiency in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP).
- Certification: CPA or CMA certification is a strong plus, though not strictly required for this role.
- Skills: Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with team members and clients.
- Work Ethic: Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a part-time capacity.
